An excellent example of brutalist architecture here in Canberra. This photo was assembled from multiple shots. The offices are ~ 500 metres long (1/3 mile) and were completed in the early 1970s. Originally planned to be a kilometre long (2/3 of a Mile) but geological issues prevented further sections.
Here in Canberra the Eastern Grey Kangaroo is a very common sight particularly at dusk and dawn. Caught this one along with four others at a Brutalist office park (Campbell Park offices) about ten minutes away from Australia's parliament house.
Shot on my relatively new 200-500mm Nikon telephoto lens on my Nikon D7000. A lens that is worth for more than the camera body.

Just an update. I'll make these fortnightly updates from heron out.
Since mid July I've had a damaged left shoulder. Later this week I'm going for an MRI scan on the shoulder to determine what exactly is going on in there. Happened at work so work is taking care of all the medical expenses. Props to them.
Recently I upgraded my computer to Windows 8.1, This was done to correct an issue with my previous Windows 7 installation that crapped itself. Windows 8.1 has a terrible issue with the dual user interface crap. Otherwise it's fine.
Nothing much to report. General tiredness and pain from my shoulder has caused me to scale back my photography at least in the short term.
I have put some thought into what I think could be described as stagnation here on DeviantArt. The issue is dA users and visitors cannot search for specific artists either by name or location. Searching for specific users and users in a geographical area was a feature present when I join DeviantArt almost eight years ago.
I remember when it was pulled down and initially being supportive of it (for reasons of privacy) but now it seems to be a massive mistake. Artists cannot connect with other artists in their city or town easily nor can fans or potential clients easily seek out a specific person or persons that live near them. DeviantArt should bring back such functionality and give the option to opt-out of being searchable by location but not by name (username or real name)
Anyone have an opinion on the subject? I'm keen to meet other artists and photographers in Canberra.
